I know i have not blogged in forever so here you go... Riley is 8 months old and he is so funny. He loves to play in his walker and in the floor. He had his first table food (grown up food) which was not very healthy but he loved it. I smushed up chicken alfredo. He cant talk yet he only says mama when he is sad, and he says hi but not very clear, we are going swimming today so that will be fun I will post pictures soon and since he is awake now I will load this and update later bye

OMG I have not updated this since riley's first thanksgiving and instead of catching up I am just going to stay current except i will put pictures from christmas and all that..... ok so riley is going to be 6 months old soon and wow he is growing up way too fast as far as his skills lets see.....

Well time is flying by I can not believe Riley is 3 months old today but I will say that I am kinda glad because of what happened last night. Riley slept from 11 to 7 and when he woke up he did not scream. It was funny because I woke up kind of in a panic and I had to make sure he was still breathing. I changed his diaper and he ate breakfast and now he is asleep again. He loves to smile and he laughs a little he loves it when u talk at a whisper and say Riley I'm gonna..........getcha. We took him to meet my extended family (the lewis side) last weekend and he was a big hit and I was a lot braver than I thought I would be as far as people holding him. Riley will be 12 weeks old tomorrow and this weekend Riley had a couple of firsts. It was his first trip to the park and his first time wearing jeans. He had the best time and he was so good we even went to sticky fingers afterwards and he just layed in his stroller and watched us eat and he did not fuss or cry at all he just looked around and wanted to see and hear everything. I don't want to wish his life away but I can not wait until we can take him to a playground.

I can not believe that Riley is almost 3 months old. He is learning so much and he has such a personality already he is getting set in his ways.

He sits in his blue chair to eat his rice cereal and formula at night.

He loves taking baths

He tries to stand up and bounce.

He loves music.

He plays on his play mat by himself and keeps himself entertained.

He smiles and shruggs his shoulders (so cute)

He is starting to discover his voice.

He is a daddy's boy

He loves kisses and loves to cuddle.

He watches cartoons.

He only wakes up once a night now.

Oh also me and Kyle have decided to do baby signing with Riley so that way he can communicate before he learns to talk so thats going to be fun. Right now me and Kyle are learning and we use signs for everything we do like eating or changing his diaper or taking a bath. Well I guess thats all for now.

Well I changed my layout again but I think this is better. As far as updates not a lot has happened but Riley is growing. He weighs close to 14 lbs and he is so tall. He really has not learned anything new except how to play me and Kyle. He will cry to be picked up and then when we walk to him he smiles so big and does this half primp thing so then we say "aw you don't need to be picked up, your faking." he smiles even bigger, its so funny. I am still doing the stay at home mom thing and I love it but I really do need a job but we are doing ok so far. Riley is almost 3 months old and it doesn't feel like he should be that old yet. I guess thats about it bye.

I can not believe its been 2 months already. He is changing so much he smiles so much and he laughs its so cute I love it. Tomorrow he is going to get his shots. I don't want him to get upset infact he will probably be better than me. Oh and I tried something different for bath time, I decided to just get in the bathtub with him and it is so much easier and since I make the water deeper he lays back and kicks and splashes and has a ball. Well I guess thats it for now oh here are some pictures I took the first one is my favorite one.

I have decided to change the colors of my blog just for something different and i sat here trying to change all my post's font color but it is too time consuming so from now on they will be a lighter color but the older ones will stay gray. Ok so I have big news. I quit my job today. I know that was a very gutsy move but I need something different and I did not want to leave Riley on monday so I have been job hunting and I found a few people who liked my resume and they said they would call me back so I will have a job soon. The reason I am leaving is because that place stresses me out in fact I left out of there crying 2 days before I had Riley and I don't want to come home every night sad, thats not fair to Riley. so anyway enough of that on to the pumpkins... we got 3 pumpkins and took pictures of riley with them...

Well Riley is a month old and things are starting to feel normal and fall into place. I am still getting used to lack of sleep and not getting a lot done. Today I got a moby wrap and omg. I love this thing and when I put him in it he falls to sleep and I can do what I need to do. Oh and I got my hair did yesterday and I got the mom hair cut off. Well I think that is it for now bye.

OMG its already been 4 weeks.... wow time goes by so fast when you have a baby. I can tell he is getting bigger and trying to do new things everyday. When I put him on his belly he is already trying to scoot and you can tell he gets mad he's not strong enough to crawl yet because he tries so hard to pick himself up. He catches his passy when it starts to fall out and he shoves it back in. I know that's not big stuff to a lot of people but it's a lot to me. Oh and I realized that when you are a mom you get excited over the funniest things and your topics for discussion change for example my friend told me that her daughter pooped for the first time since she was born and we were excited about it, and When he burps after he eats its like "yay finally". OK I also need to update a little about our house. We are still unpacking here and there and I don't have any room completely finished and the deck (or lack of one) is still needing work. Oh but me and my M-I-L went shopping and I got some new decor from old time pottery and the kitchen and living room is looking good. The only set back now is the stupid cable... due to the wiring from then people who lived here before us the signal is unstable and we are having to pay for new wiring so the Internet comes and goes so my updates are going to be few and far between but oh well. I think that is it for right now bye.

Riley had his first bath the other day (in the bathtub not sponge bath) and he likes the water running on him but he does not like to be cold so I don't know if he will like future baths or not we will see.

hey you guys I am so sorry I have not posted in a very long time but so much has happened. Since I have had Riley we got a house so moving in has been such a process. We moved in a week ago but I am just not getting to sit on a couch, have the Internet again and actually feel like a wife, I have not even got to cook in my new kitchen yet. Anyway about Riley.... He is the best baby and I am not just saying that because he is mine. He doesn't cry that much unless he wants something and its only for a second then he is fine. He is 3 weeks old and he can already lift his head and roll to one side (he tries to roll all the way over and he did once) he likes to put his feet against things and push off and he has cafe muscles. I can not believe he is already 3 weeks old. Time flys by so fast when you have a baby. OK well I think that is it for this post, next post will be his first bath.

Hey everyone well it has almost been a week and I can't believe it. Riley is already such a character. I think he does things just to be a stinker like he will spit up on every outfit I put on him, he has peed on me, kyle, and he exploded on my mom (it was so funny). He already is lifting his head and rolling to one side. I don't want him to grow up too fast. I am not getting a lot of sleep right now but I don't care I love it and I love being a mom.

OK I finally have the time to sit and post on my blog of course it is 2:51 in the morning and every time I lay down he cries so here I am (but I love it).

Labor story:

Sunday night after eating Mexican and riding down bumpy roads being miserably pregnant I layed down to go to sleep and I felt like my water broke. I called the doctor and she told me to come to the hospital and she would look. We got to the hospital at like 11:00 and I was checked. She told my that my water did not break so I don't know what I felt. She did an ultrasound to see how much fluid was around him which was not a lot. She decided to induce me and get things started, which I was all for it. I called my family and the party got started. I was so nervous because I knew that nothing would ever be the same and I was also relieved because I was so miserable. On into the afternoon I decided it was time for pain meds so I got my epidural and the rest of the day I slept on and off. That evening (I don't know what time) I was dilated to 9 and 3/4 cm and I was so ready to push but my doctor was not there so they slowed my contractions down. finally the decided it was time to push. With out going in to all the gory details I will just say I thought he would never come out. After 3 and a half hours of pushing and screaming because I just could not do it anymore he was born at 10:53 that night. After getting him out I was kind of out of it and I was in so much pain that even though they handed him to me I could not enjoy him yet after that I woke up in the O.R. at 3 in the a.m. with some girl taking tape off my back. I did not know where I was or what happened to me. After I got into my room and more awake I found out that due to me being in so much pain and being so out of it I would not let them finish their work on me so I got put to sleep for the rest of it. Then the nurse brought me Riley and I finally got to enjoy him. Off the record I think Riley will be an only child because that is the hardest thing I ever had to do and I did not find out until later that my whole family was so worried and Kyle had to talk me through everything. I don't even remember the last couple of pushes so I don't know how I did it. Now we are home well our temporary home due to the apartment being a mess and the house not ready we are with my mom which makes it much better until I learn what I am doing. Now I am really happy and I absolutely love my son.

Hey everybody OK so I have reached the miserable stage I am 38 weeks pregnant and huge. The doctor told me Thursday that I was 3 cm dilated and 70% effaced but he wont come out. I don't understand he is big enough and we both are ready. I keep feeling tightness and pain like cramping but nothing consistent. The doctor also told me I might have toxemia and I wont know that for sure until Monday. I am supposed to take it easy and stay completely of my feet. Today my mom suggested we go eat Mexican and walk the mall. Now I am worn out and my tummy feels yucky but I am still pregnant. I don't think I will ever have this baby.

Hey everyone I had a doctor's appt today and I am 2 cm dilated so yay. The only thing that was not good was the fluid around him was low but he is OK if it drops even lower next week then they are going to induce me. She cut me down to half days at work so that is great. Now we are on a time limit on packing the apartment and we are fixing the house so its crazy but as you can see I have help lol.

36 week doctor's appt

OK so I went to the doctor yesterday and I got a good report. I am half a cm dilated and my blood pressure is good. The only thing she was worried about was my swelling but since my blood pressure was OK then the baby is not in an danger. He measured a week more than I am but we are going to keep the same due date. I go back next week for an ultrasound to see how much he weighs but the have reassured me that he will not be late so I am glad about that. We close on our house Sept 8Th so its a little crazy around here trying to pack for the house but at the same time getting ready for the baby. Oh I got off topic back to the appt. She did not take me out of work so for now I am stuck working with swollen feet and shoes that don't fit with every patient I walk back asking me questions and making comments (sometimes not always nice ones) so I have the same conversation 40 times a day... "are u having a baby?" "when are u due?" "how many are u having?" or my favorite "did you swallow a watermelon seed?" not to mention a few people at work make comments and tell me how bad i look or make stupid jokes all day long but if I start my maternity leave early then I am a wimp who cant handle it so I am counting the days until he comes. OK I always do that don't I? I start venting and rambling. OK so next will be my last baby shower then packing for the house.

I had my 3rd shower today and it was great. I got just about everything I registered for. Almost all my friends came that could make it and it was very relaxed and layed back no rushing me through my food or or opening gifts it was great. I have 1 more next weekend and then it will be almost time for Riley to arrive. The only thing that is sad is I can't put anything else together or work on the nursery because we will be moving in early Sept so starting next week I have to pack things for the big move. next post will probably my other shower or the new house or both...

Hey everyone OK so I need to share some great news...... We got a house!!!!! yeah its a 4 bedroom 2 and a half bathrooms split level house yay. now the stressful thing is we close on it the beginning of Sept which means we have a lot of work to do and I am due Sept 6Th so yeah its a little crazy but it was such a good deal we had to jump on it so that's the big news. Other than that I will be 36 weeks on Sunday and I am so ready for him to be here I am hoping he will come early because me and him are fighting each other for space and right now he is winning. I have 2 more baby showers to attend so I am excited about that. The nursery was almost done but now we have to pack it up and move so we will be starting from scratch but we have everything. I think that is it for now. I guess the next post will be baby shower pictures or house pictures.

Hey everyone ok its 4:00 in the morning and I am awake again for the second night in a row. I have not struggled with heartburn my whole pregnancy like everyone else I know. For the past few days I wake up at like 3:30 or 4:00 feeling like my heart and throat are just on fire. I have to get up and sit up straight so I will feel better. I am not going to put up with this for 7 more weeks and I don't know want anyone to say oh that just means he will have a lot of hair. I know he has hair I don't want to hear anymore wife's tales. Ok on to another subject we had another 3-D ultrasound today and it was so cool I love to see him and his little fat cheeks. I have some more pictures. I guess that is it for right now bye.

3-d ultra sound

Hey everyone we just got done having our 3-d ultra sound and it was great. I think he looks like Kyle. We could not see him as good as we would have liked because he had his face in the placenta so we are going back on the 18Th to try again. Now I know you all probably want to see pictures of what we got so far but due to technical difficulties I cant put them on the computer yet but I am trying. The coolest thing happened Kyle started talking to him to see if he would move and he smiled so big it was great.
Also we got his dresser put together and his letters are here so yay the only thing I am worried about is the size of his room and the size of his furniture but I will just have to keep rearranging things until I fit things in. I think that is it for now I promise next post will be pictures

Hey everyone. I am going to be 30 weeks on Sunday and I have some updates. I go back to the doctor on July 2ND for an ultrasound and stuff just to make sure all is well. I am going to get a 3-d ultrasound July 8Th and I am so excited about that I can't wait to see who he looks like. My work shower is July 14Th so that will be fun. My mother in law's shower is July 25Th and the other 2 showers are kind of still in the air. Everything is going good except I have a cold which is taking a toll on me but I will get over it. Riley's nursery is still a work in progress his dresser will be here soon and his letters that spell out "rock star" will also be here soon. He is still on the move and getting so strong now when I roll over towards Kyle at night Riley's movements wake him up. I am getting really big and starting to waddle in fact everyone at work is sure I wont make it to September or that I am having twins and they say those things about 5 times a day each which is very annoying but I don't want to be rude. Oh and someone also told me that my face was fatter. People are so nice. OK sorry I got myself started I am done now. I think that's about it. the next post will probably be pictures of Riley in 3-d bye.

Doctor's Appointment

Hey everyone ok so I had to go to the doctor today for my regular check up and I had to drink that sugar stuff. I got up this morning, did not eat breakfast, drank that glucose stuff or whatever, and went to the doctor. She measured my belly and weighed me and all that stuff and she changed my due date. I am due on Sept 6Th now instead of the 11Th so now I am 28 weeks and 2 days instead of 27 weeks 4 days so yeah. Now I have to go every 2 weeks instead of every month. It's getting closer I am getting nervous because in like 2 in a half months I have to have a baby. I think that's all I have to say about the appointment. Oh we got his mobile on the crib I am excited about that. Its just one more thing in the nursery. ok well that is all for now bye.

Papa

If you have read my facebook and myspace you all know that I lost my grandfather (papa) Thursday so I have not updated in a few days. I figured even though this is about Riley I still needed to write and update about my life and since Riley was with me through all of this it kind of affects him to.

My Papa was a very active man for so long but due to unforeseen problems he started to go down hill. It started with him not being able to stand up for a long time then he had to start leaning on things or people to stand. For the last 6 months he started slowing down body and mind. He just sat in a wheel chair or his recliner. a few months ago his speech started to fade and in the last 2 weeks he just stopped talking. Wednesday I got a phone call saying come to Pickens but don't rush. When I got there all of my family were there. My aunt greeted me at the door and gave me details on his condition. She said he has gotten worse and that he only had 24-48 hrs left. I walked in the room and was shocked at what I saw. My papa was laying in bed barley breathing and not able to communicate. I sat beside him and talked to him and held his hand although he could not squeeze mine back. After a couple hours of being with him and family I had to leave because it was getting late and my grandmother (granny) was worried about me because of me being pregnant. That night I could not sleep I stayed up until 12 scared for morning to come because I just knew I was going to get a phone call. I woke up at 2:15 unable to sleep. At 5:45 my husband left for work and I faded off to sleep. At 6:45 I woke up to my husband walking in the bedroom to let me know the bad news. Thursday and Friday I spent time with my family. Saturday we had the funeral and burial for him. It was so hard to see him that way.

I think everything happens for a reason and the reason that I am expecting is because God knew that he was going to take my papa from us so he is blessing us with our first child, grandchild and great grandchild. Riley is the reason I have been strong through all of this.

Papa was very excited about having his first great grandchild so now even though he wont be here to hold him I know he is going to be up in heaven watching him grow up and I will make sure Riley knows who his Great grandfather was.

Hey everyone Its been a few days since I have posted and I thought I should update. He is moving like crazy all day Sunday he was moving and tumbling all over the place, running his feet down my belly. It was so weird Its hard to get used to I mean I have been feeling him move but he is getting so much stronger I was actually worn out last night. but at least Kyle got to feel him move a bunch so that was good. Even today while me and my friend Andrea were watching days of our lives and doing our nails he was moving a lot. I guess that's about it for now. I am going to the doctor tomorrow for my 6 months check up and that's about it bye.

Hey it's been a while since I have blogged so I thought I would update with some news and pictures. The crib and the bedding came in this week and we just got done putting everything together but the room still looks bare. I can't believe we have a crib in the house it is starting to feel more real. We still have a lot of work to do but the most important thing is done so yay. We are going to register at babies r us next weekend and that is going to be fun it will probably take 2 days but I can't wait. Right now I have got my feet up and I am watching Finding Nemo ( I love that movie) well I think that is it for now bye.

updates and a little venting

well its been a few days since I posted on here and I was trying to wait until I had new pictures to post but there's nothing to take a picture of so this post will just have words. I am 21 weeks or 5 months and 1 week pregnant and I feel great except for being sleepy all the time. Riley moves all the time he kicks and turns and sticks his little butt in the air. I think he's going to be a show off. I have not been sick in a while I have just been getting headaches and mood swings but I can deal with that I am just glad I am not sick. In a couple of weeks me and Kyle are going to register and start shopping for Riley so that will be exciting. I think I only have 1 complaint to make so far about being pregnant. I don't know why but when people know you are pregnant or see your belly they become doctors and start telling you all kinds of bad stories or when you complain about hurting your toe or any type of ache you have they say... "if you can't handle that then you will never be able to have your baby." or " you think its bad now just wait its going to get worse." but my favorite negative comment so far was "aw your five months pregnant aw that's when i lost my second child." who does that. well that's just me venting a little bit. but other than that I love being pregnant and I can't wait to meet Riley Stewart Clark.

Charleston Trip

We are back from Charleston and we had a great time. When we got there the baby was ready to play I layed down to sleep and he decided to roll around and kick like crazy he even stuck his butt up in the air. We walked a lot we did the ghost tour, we shopped, we went to the market, we hit the beach, it was great but now I am ready to start working on the nursery and getting things ready.

I had my ultrasound today and its official me and kyle are having a baby boy so I am so excited we had already picked out a lot of stuff for a boy so this is perfect. I just find it funny how when other ppl found out they were having girls its like congrats but when you are having a boy the husband gets a pat on the back and a atta boy. Hey everyone this is my first official baby post since i am still trying to figure out how this thing works. I started this account I while ago but I am going to start using it for baby stuff.
Ok so its like really early in the morning and I am waiting to go to the doctor to find out what I am having I am so excited I can't wait oh let me back up a little bit....
I am 20 weeks pregant with our first child and I am so excited I am going to try to keep yall updated.
